Job Description Job Overview of BCBA
The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides leadership in behavior assessment, intervention design, implementation, and evaluation for students at the Orchard School. The BCBA supports the school’s mission of meeting students’ educational, social-emotional, and behavioral needs through evidence-based practices, interdisciplinary collaboration, and staff capacity-building.
10 month school year and 6 week summer program
Hours – 8:30am-3:30pm daily, except for one day per week that is designated for staff conference: 3:00pm-5:00pm.
Essential Duties of BCBA
Behavior Assessment and Planning
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and ongoing data analysis.
Implementation and Direct Support
Consult and collaborate with staff to address challenging behaviors, promote skill acquisition, and improve the overall quality of educational and social functioning for students.
Provide training and coaching to teachers, certified teaching assistants, and 1:1 aides.
Oversee behavior data collection systems.
Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
Essential Qualifications of BCBA
Current BCBA certification.
Master’s degree or higher in ABA, Psychology, Special Education, or related field with 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Experience with students with complex behavioral or developmental needs.
Experience supervising or training staff preferred.
Strong data-driven decision-making skills.

Candidates who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and verbal test, and you will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint.
