Associate Actuary

Zurich North America is currently looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst or Associate Actuary based out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois or any US office. This role supports Zurich’s Liability line of business and is a part of the Underwriting organization.

The General Liability Pricing Team works closely with other Actuarial teams as well as General Liability Product Management and Market Facing Underwriting teams to support achievement of Zurich’s financial objectives.

Detailed pricing analysis support including the development of rates, rating plans, and portfolio management strategies

Provide input and guidance to actuarial, statistical, and IT functions to support current and future pricing tools across multiple platforms.

Provide Lead support for Pricing Tools and related monitoring including working knowledge of underlying predictive models

Build new or adhere to existing governance and monitoring frameworks

This role will be filled at either the Senior Actuarial Analyst or Associate Actuary level. Basic Qualifications – Senior Actuarial Analyst:

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates DegreeOR

Bachelors DegreeAND

Successful completion of 5 or more actuarial exams (applicable to FCAS designation or equivalent international certification) with 2 or more years of experience in the Actuarial areaOR

Successful completion of 3 or more actuarial exams (applicable to FCAS designation or equivalent international certification) with 3 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area

Basic Qualifications – Associate Actuary:

Bachelors Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial areaAND

ACAS or equivalent international certification

Proficiency in pricing studies: rate indications, trend studies, parameter analysis

Proficiency with Pricing Tools including development, deployment, and post-implementation monitoring.

Familiarity with Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics and experience transforming data in the business analysis area and providing explanation and inputs to IT.

Familiarity with statistical and predictive modeling techniques including but not limited to decision trees, clustering, and GLMs.

Experience collaborating on cross-functional team projects

We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The proposed salary range for the Associate Actuary is $87,200.00 - $142,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed salary range for the Senior Actuarial Analyst is $115,200.00 - $188,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
