Kitchen Steward
The Kitchen Steward plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen by washing equipment, cleaning floors, and ensuring the overall hygiene of the back-of-house environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a professional kitchen setting. Duties and responsibilities include washing and sanitizing dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils; maintaining safe and tidy work areas by clearing debris, boxes, and misplaced equipment; sweeping and mopping kitchen floors using safe cleaning practices; managing kitchen waste and recycling systems, ensuring proper disposal; organizing and safely storing clean kitchen equipment; supporting chefs and other kitchen staff with cleaning and prep area maintenance; and completing additional cleaning or support tasks as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications include engaging in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, reaching; being comfortable using hands to grip, handle, reach, and carry objects; being capable of safely lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally; being reliable, hardworking, and able to follow sanitation procedures; and being available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as scheduled.
