ASST, SERVER (FULL & PART-TIME)

Role Summary

A Server Apprentice at Vandelay Hospitality Group is responsible for assisting our service staff with providing exceptional service to our guests. The Server Apprentice is expected to perform in a hospitable manner and play an integral role in supporting and maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant while also anticipating the guests’ needs. Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed, while exceeding expectations of all.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and service areas.

Assist servers, bartenders, and hosts when needed and understand food descriptions and ingredients of menu items.

Run food from the kitchen to guest tables after ensuring each course is complete and accurate.

Run beverages from the bar to guest tables and ensure beverages are always full.

Remove used dishes and silverware from guest tables between courses and after guests leave the table.

Communicate with server, bartenders, and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and guest service.

Maintain cleanliness of all tables and chairs in assigned service area and reset vacated tables.

Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.

Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Detail oriented with strong communication skills and work ethic.

Team oriented with a strong sense of punctuality and reliability.

Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while being positive, respectful, professional and having a genuine attitude towards guests and colleagues.

Fluent in both written and spoken English.

Be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds and easily maneuver plates, cases of water, chairs, linen and dining room tables.

State required serving age (varies by state); TABC Certification, as required.

Certified for food and alcohol service as required by State and Local Agencies.
