Nurse (Health Care)

Support the inpatient hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant unit on Feldberg 7 at Bidmc. This is an entry‑level nursing position for new graduate nurses, automatically enrolling candidates into the Transition to Practice: Nurse Residency Program.

Provide direct care to patients and make necessary nursing judgments.

Systematically assess health‑care needs, formulate and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes.

Coordinate patient care and direct assistive personnel to deliver safe, effective, timely, patient‑centered care.

Collaborate with other health professionals to determine and address patients' and families' health‑care needs.

Maintain annual mandatory education requirements, including emergency skills and unit‑based competencies.

Identify needs for continued growth and development in collaboration with the unit‑based educator or clinical nurse specialist.

Demonstrate commitment to patients, staff, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, reflecting the organization’s goals and maintaining accountability for nursing practice and patient safety.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Registered Nurse license required.

0-1 year related nursing experience.

Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate web‑based applications.

Decision Making - make decisions guided by general instructions and interpret practices; seek assistance with difficult situations.

Oral Communications - comprehend and communicate complex verbal information to staff, patients, families, and external customers.

Knowledge - demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures, and policies.

Team Work - collaborate in small teams to improve operations by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting members.

Customer Service - provide high‑level service to patients, visitors, staff, and external customers with active listening and problem‑solving skills; Employees must be competent in providing patient care to the following age groups: neonatal (birth to 6 months), young adult (16-30 years), middle age (30-60 years), and elderly (60+ years).

Job requires standing and moving throughout most of the shift.

38.00 - $98.19 per hour. Compensation may exceed the base rate due to factors such as seniority, education, training, certification, geography, job responsibilities, and applicable shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other additional pay practices.
