Board-Certified Psychiatrist Requirements

MD or DO degree required
Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program required
Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) required
Active, unrestricted Kentucky medical license required
Experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings preferred
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
Provide ongoing medication management for patients
Deliver psychiatric care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
Participate in treatment planning and discharge coordination
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EMR systems
Participate in scheduled on-call rotation
Support quality patient outcomes through evidence-based psychiatric care
