RDA/DENTAL ASSISTANCE

Overview Join to apply for the Dental Assistant role at Advantage Health Centers
Pay range - $19 to $22 per hour, based on experience.
Position works directly with and under the supervision of the Dentist in providing general dental services. To assist the Dentist in providing clinical dental services and outreach community services in metropolitan Detroit.
Responsibilities Knowledge of dental terminology, dental materials and instruments; efficient in room set-up for restorative, oral surgery, pedo, crown, and endo a plus
Preparing patients for dental health services and instructing them in appropriate post dental treatment, diet and oral hygiene
Taking inventory, stocking all supplies, instruments and medications and the ordering of said items
Knowledge and proficiency of digital x-rays
taking dental impressions, pouring plaster models, etc.
Maintaining dental equipment and operatories in good, clean condition at all times
Cross-training in other dental support positions as necessary, i.e., reception, oral surgery, etc.
Other duties as assigned by the Dental Director as it pertains to the Dental Department
To participate in in-service training, department and general staff meetings and clinics
Minimum Qualifications Possession of a valid State of Michigan Registered Dental Assistant license (preferred)
Possession of high school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a dental assist training academic program, or
Minimum 2 years chair side dental assistance experience (references required)
Emergency medicine course
