Position Overview
As the Project Manager, you will work on‑site in Houston, TX and surrounding areas, managing and controlling assigned projects. Your responsibilities include overseeing on‑site field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, generating daily reports, and trade contractor and supplier coordination for civil construction projects. You will ensure the successful delivery of projects, maximizing project margins while promoting safety, quality, and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead planning and execution with Estimator, Superintendent, Project Engineers, and Foremen.

Establish project objectives, policies, and performance standards aligned with corporate policy and contract specifications.

Work with Superintendent, Quality Manager, and Management Team to ensure work meets contract requirements.

Review plans and specifications and coordinate with the team to confirm scope.

Monitor on‑site safety, audit compliance, and modify practices as necessary.

Procure and schedule materials, equipment, personnel, and subcontractors to meet schedule and budget; source construction materials and coordinate deliveries.

Track projected contract revenue, cost‑to‑complete, and cash flow projections monthly.

Assist with project estimates and ensure all factors are considered and priced.

Ensure required job reporting is documented and thorough.

Review plans, reports, permits, RFIs, and design changes for compliance.

Implement quality control plan and confirm compliance with contract documents.

Review subcontractor daily reports for conformity.

Formulate progress, cost, and schedule reports.

Maintain documentation for project start‑up, commissioning, contracts, completion reports, and close‑out.

Monitor and control the project with onsite staff to meet schedule and budget.

Collaborate respectfully with coworkers and represent the company in project meetings.

Travel for work‑related purposes as needed (95% of the time).

Maintain a safe working environment and perform other duties as directed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises project field personnel and subcontractors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Technical knowledge of field construction concepts, practices, and procedures.

Effective team management and change management skills.

Ability to supervise staff at various project sites.

Knowledge of construction, architectural, and building industry standards.

Experience with scheduling, subcontracts, submittals, quality control, and safety.

Strong reading and comprehension of construction plans and specifications.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, P6, Excel, Word, Outlook, Autodesk Civil 3D, HCSS HeavyBid, and HCSS HeavyJob.

Strong organizational, prioritized, and time‑management skills.

Self‑motivation and the ability to work independently.

Excellent customer relationship building and follow‑up skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (equivalent experience admissible).

Five years of civil project management experience.

Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle per company policy.

Pass required drug test, driving, and background screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Project Management Professional certification (PMP).

OSHA 30‑hour certification, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Management (CQM) certificate, and Resident Management System (RMS) experience.

Working Environment
The environment is fast‑paced and multi‑tasking, requiring efficient performance. Work may be performed in the office as well as at indoor and outdoor job sites. Adaptability to schedule and design changes and occasional overtime for field support or bid processing may be necessary.
