Description The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and managing direct material components for automotive programs, supporting cost reduction initiatives, supplier performance management, commodity strategy development, and commercial negotiations. Key Responsibilities Manage assigned direct material commodities (interiors, latches, electrical, or similar automotive components).
Source and negotiate direct material components to meet cost, quality, and timing requirements.
Negotiate commercial agreements and resolve supplier-related issues.
Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans as needed.
Develop and maintain commodity strategies and market intelligence.
Position Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
2-5 years of purchasing, sourcing, or buyer experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
Direct materials purchasing experience required (automotive production parts/components).
Advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills.
Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications Automotive direct materials purchasing experience.
Experience sourcing vehicle components such as interiors, latches, electrical components, or similar production-related commodities.
Supply Chain Management degree preferred.
Electrical commodity sourcing experience is a plus.
