Schedule: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am, 12 hour shifts, variable scheduled days

As a certified nursing assistant at Salem Health, you play a vital role in delivering compassionate, hands‑on care during some of the most vulnerable moments in a patient’s life. You’ll assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and collaborate closely with nurses and providers to ensure safe, personalized care. Our 46 bed Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is seeking passionate and skilled healthcare professionals to join our team. As an integral extension of the Emergency Department, the CDU provides short term observation care, up to 48 hour, for patients requiring further evaluation before discharge or admission. Completes personal care on each patient as directed by plan of care, including policies and procedures, without continual direct supervision.

Accurately performs skills per policy and procedure. Observes and reports any patient condition changes to the Primary Nurse such as: abnormal vital signs, abnormal responses to care, change in patient behavior, functional status, patient complaints, changes in skin integrity, falls, etc.

Documents pertinent patient information concisely and legibly using acceptable medical terminology and abbreviation on all assigned patients.

Supports nurses and healthcare staff in delivering personalized, high‑quality care.

Provides emotional support and compassionate care during vulnerable moments.

Helps ensure patient dignity, comfort, and safety at all times.

Possess well‑developed computer skills and ability to learn additional programs with minimal training.

Proven ability to work tactfully and effectively with physicians, nurses and other hospital employees.
