Delta Heritage Trail State Par -PT15

This position supervises multiple maintenance teams and works closely with the Assistant Superintendent to plan and execute trail projects including bridge repair, resurfacing, erosion mitigation, herbicide application, and vegetation management. The position also oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment, power tools, and maintenance vehicles.

Delta Heritage Trail is large and remote, with a 2-hour drive from end to end and limited cell phone signal. This is a highly active position requiring frequent travel by truck, UTV, bicycle, or on foot to supervise crew, inspect the trail and trailheads, and respond to maintenance needs.

Must have experience in trail maintenance, equipment repair, and supervisory experience leading crews with trail maintenance or similar outdoor operations. A Commercial Driver's License is preferred. The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, decision making, and ability to prioritize multiple projects while independently working independently in remote and vast park environment.

The Skilled Tradesman is responsible for performing specialized maintenance, installation, repair, and construction work within a department. This position requires expertise in one or more trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding, or masonry, to maintain and improve state-owned facilities, infrastructure, and equipment. Perform skilled work in one or more trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, welding, or painting, to maintain state buildings and infrastructure.Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential issues before they become major problems.Maintain and repair tools, machinery, and equipment used in trade-related tasks.Operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as heavy equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, or backhoes, depending on the assigned trade.Maintain accurate records of materials used, work completed, and repairs performed.Work closely with other trades professionals, contractors, and agency staff to complete projects efficiently.Provide guidance or training to apprentices or less experienced workers when necessary.

Advanced knowledge and experience in one or more skilled trades, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, welding, or painting.Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute installations and repairs accurately.Ability to operate and maintain trade-specific tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques to extend the lifespan of equipment and infrastructure.

High school diploma or GED required, plus at least two (2) years of experience in one or more skilled trades.

Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
