Full Time Physiatrist Needed

Job Summary: The Physical Therapist is responsible for implementing patient rehabilitation programs aimed at improving mobility, function, and strength. This role involves evaluating and treating patients, supervising PT Assistants and Aides, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure quality patient care. The Physical Therapist must be physically capable of performing duties including lifting and assisting patients, and must adhere to privacy and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs.

Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.

Utilize Electronic Medical Records to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.

Guide and supervise PT Assistants and Aides in all aspects of patient care.

Communicate effectively with physicians, co-workers, and other offices to ensure quality care.

Maintain accurate patient chart documentation and follow up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations.

Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and provide stand-by assistance for walking safety.

Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed.

Adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures to protect patient privacy.

Comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Active Physical Therapist license in the state of employment or plan to obtain license imminently.

Degree in Physical Therapy.

Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and documentation.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care.

Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, assist patients with mobility restraints, and sustain prolonged standing and walking.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Continuing education courses in physical therapy.

Experience with Medicare, workers' compensation, private insurance, auto insurance, liens, and cash pay billing processes.

Proficiency in DX and ICD-10 coding for billing.

Special Considerations:

Must comply with patient privacy policies and actively participate in privacy training.

Work environment is an outpatient physical therapy clinic.

Physical demands include frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and patient support.

No travel is expected for this position.

Scheduling:

Full-time work schedule with 8-10 hour workdays based on patient care schedule.

Shift type primarily day shifts in an outpatient clinic setting.
