To provide school social work services and referrals to students and families that will meet the social and emotional needs of students and promote a successful learning capacity for all students. To work in collaboration with student services personnel, both district and school-based.

Master’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university.

Certification or eligible for certification by the Florida State Department of Education.

Participate in and provide professional learning for OCPS employees and community members in accordance with social work areas of responsibility as needed.

Provide support and assistance to graduate interns and newly hired school social workers.

Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.

Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease or pathogenic substances.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions as set forth in the OCPS Instructional Personnel Evaluation System procedures manual.
