Maintenance Person-2nd Shift

You will serve as a Maintenance Worker. Join the Klamath Basin Area Office as a Dam Operator responsible for the operation of multiple Dams within the Klamath Project, located in Southern Oregon and Northern California.

You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.

Observes and reckons with related operational factors, such as maintaining prescribed water levels in reservoirs, conveyance capacities, and changes in diverter's pumping operations.

Makes irrigation water deliveries to private lands from canal turnouts, water releases into water areas under Fish and Wildlife control, and from wildlife regulating ponds into Project leased lands.

Repairs, paints and replaces water control gates and pipes. Maintains and repairs irrigation equipment and facilities, including pumps, valves, discharge gates, turnouts, pipes, fittings).

Operates and services farm and construction-type equipment, such as rubber-tired backhoe, motor grader, crawler tractor, farm tractor, hydraulic excavation, front end loader, forklift, boat, power mowers, asphalt pots, small cement mixer, motor vehicles and trucks weighing no more than 26,000 pounds.

You must possess or obtain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Failure to obtain/maintain a Class A CDL will result in the termination of appointment.

Pre-employment and random alcohol and drug testing are required. You must obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator's license, Fixed Crane certification, Rigger certification, various Dam Tenders certification courses and a valid CPR and First Aid certificate. You are required to work a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.

You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.

You cannot hold an active real estate license, nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Lands. Pre-employment and random drug testing are required. You must be at least 18 years of age or older to operate government vehicles.

Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
