Physician-Pediatric Physiatrist (Physician )

Job Overview This position is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard physical therapy practices. The role also includes consulting, educating, and training patients, families, and caregivers, and collaborating with care teams and stakeholders to deliver quality, patient‑centered care.

Work Schedule Three (3) 10-hour shifts per week: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Additionally, the position requires rotating Saturday and holiday coverage, and may involve providing additional coverage for other physical therapists when patient care needs arise. Essential Functions / Responsibilities Promote the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health and adhere to service standards.

Provide skilled physical therapy services, staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups.

Conduct evaluations and treatments according to professional standards (APTA), considering diagnosis, history, and physician referrals, and develop care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments.

Maintain thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies, and complete patient billing accurately and promptly.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers regarding patient needs and goals, ensuring smooth operations and optimal use of rehabilitation services.

Manage all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students to ensure high-quality care.

Engage in quality improvement processes, including safe equipment use, clinical outcomes, patient access, experience, and all aspects of the Intermountain Operating Model. Contribute to program development and marketing strategies to grow the physical therapy program and achieve department goals.

Qualifications Current physical therapist license in the state(s) where you work.

Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Basic computer skills.

Experience with the target pediatric population.

Physical Requirements Employees must be able to see, read information, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and frequently interact with patient care providers, patients, and visitors. Manual dexterity is required for manipulating delicate equipment and frequent computer use and typing for documentation. Lifting, bending, carrying, and transporting supplies and equipment—including heavy items—is expected. Location & Compensation Location: Primary Children’s at Lehi (Lehi, Utah)

Hourly rate: $42.66 – $65.82 (actual rate depends on experience)
