Shifts will be assigned on an as needed basis.

The Youth Development Specialist (YDS) prepares and implements programs, supervises club members, and evaluates activities and outcomes within a specific program area, supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. This is an afterschool/summer contracted position with Scholarship Prep Charter Schools and is subject to Scholarship Prep guidelines & rules.

Prepare Youth for Success
Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development.
Provide homework help and academic support.

Program Implementation
Supervision of Youth
Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior and act as a role model and mentor to youth.
Provide a safe environment through active supervision, setting clear expectations and maintaining clean program areas.
Maintain a good reputation and moral conduct outside of work, in the community and on social media networks.
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in the organization’s Employee Handbook, Staff Code of Ethics, and elsewhere.

May be required to drive club van periodically.

Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.

High School diploma or GED required.
Experience working with children (preferred).
Must have at least 48 semester/72 quarter college units, College Degree or pass School District ESSA test.
Ability to work a minimum of two (2) days per week.
Knowledge of youth development stages.
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
Ability to plan and implement quality activities for youth.
Must clear TB, Drug Screen and Fingerprint check.
