Mental Health Care Counselor

As a Counselor, you’ll lead dynamic group therapy sessions and be a vital part of our member‑centered care teams. You’ll work in a mission‑driven environment where compassion, integrity, and human connection drive real transformation.

Lead 3-4 one‑hour group therapy sessions per day using a structured, evidence‑based curriculum.

Monitor member progress and document outcomes.

Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

An active Iowa independently licensed behavioral health license or certification and associate level status with ability and willingness to obtain licensure reciprocity in other states including but not limited to:

Certified Addiction and Drug Counselor (CADC)

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.

Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.

Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT.
