Production Machinist (Manufacturing)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Swiss Lathe Machinist to join a precision manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Swiss-style CNC lathes to produce high-quality metal components. The ideal candidate will have experience working with tight tolerances and a strong understanding of machining processes.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate Swiss CNC lathes for production runs

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

Perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program adjustments

Monitor machine performance and ensure parts meet quality standards

Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)

Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Follow all safety and company procedures

Qualifications

Previous experience operating Swiss CNC lathes (Star, Citizen, Tsugami, etc. preferred)

Strong understanding of machining principles and tooling

Ability to read blueprints and work with tight tolerances

Experience with measuring instruments and quality inspection

Basic CNC programming/editing knowledge is a plus

Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years of CNC or Swiss machining experience
• Experience working with steel or other metals
• Familiarity with high-volume or precision manufacturing environments
