Janitorial Maintenance/Cleaning - Part-Time

Job Level: Entry • Job Location: Home Sweet Home Ministries - Bloomington, IL 61701 • Position Type: Part Time • Salary: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour • Shift: Tuesday‑Saturday, 9AM‑2PM

Job Overview Home Sweet Home Ministries invites candidates to join our dedicated team as a custodial staff member to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our campus.

Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize all assigned areas, including restrooms, showers, locker rooms, offices, common areas, residential spaces, and basements.

Sweep, mop, vacuum floors and stairwells; shampoo carpets as needed.

Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, showers, lockers, and fixtures to maintain a hygienic environment for residents, guests, and staff.

Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners in accordance with facility standards.

Clean and disinfect windows, mirrors, and other surfaces throughout the facility.

Maintain outdoor areas by sweeping debris, removing trash, performing light landscaping, and clearing walkways.

Restock cleaning and hygiene supplies in restrooms, locker rooms, kitchens, and other designated areas; keep janitor closets organized and fully stocked with required PPE.

Follow all OSHA safety standards and keep Safety Data Sheets current, accessible, and stored properly.

Proactively communicate custodial needs, supply shortages or facility concerns to the supervisor and provide recommendations or plans for resolution.

Regularly update the status of assigned tasks and promptly report any maintenance or safety issues.

Maintain professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times, especially in residential or sensitive areas.

Carry and respond to agency‑provided radio while on duty.

Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of one year of custodial experience.

Working knowledge of MicrosoftOffice and basic data entry skills.

Self‑motivated, able to organize day’s work and work independently.

Ability to multi‑task in a high‑stress environment.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Actively involved in the Christian faith.
