Cost Estimator (temp)

This person is responsible for preparing estimates for various projects, ensuring cost accuracy in collaboration with the project team, and assisting other estimators and managers in diverse estimating tasks. Champion the company's values by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.

Ensure integrity in construction through honesty, unity, safety, and quality work.

Prepare estimates and supplementary information for potential projects.

Review and suggest improvements to contract documents, including plans, specifications, and addenda.

Solicit bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, creating contact listings for specific projects.

Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to clarify pricing information and determine their suitability and competitiveness.

Prepare and analyze estimate formats in areas such as general conditions, bidding, quantity takeoffs, and bid analysis.

Prepare detailed schedules for proposed projects.

Initiate and guide various special projects related to estimating.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a construction-related field, or equivalent education and experience.

At least 2 years of experience in estimating commercial and/or industrial construction projects, demonstrating competence in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.

Excellent working knowledge of Timberline and Excel software.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Primavera systems is preferred.

Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, copiers, and fax machines.
