503A Compounding Pharmacy

We’re seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide hands‑on leadership for a growing compounding pharmacy in Knoxville, TN.

This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who enjoys leading teams, managing pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and taking ownership of quality and patient safety.

Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations, workflow, staffing, scheduling, and productivity

Lead, coach, train, and support pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff

Maintain compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations, Board of Pharmacy requirements, USP standards, and established SOPs

Oversee 503A compounding operations and medication preparation, labeling, storage, and dispensing processes

Maintain a strong culture of medication safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance

Serve as the primary pharmacy contact for Board of Pharmacy inspections, audits, accreditation activities, and regulatory inquiries

Review medication errors, incidents, complaints, and quality concerns and implement corrective actions when necessary

Oversee medication and supply inventory, purchasing, storage, organization, and expiration management

Maintain pharmacy documentation, policies, licenses, registrations, staff competencies, and regulatory records

Partner closely with the Director of Pharmacy on operational improvements and strategic initiatives

Ability to serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)

Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience; Pharmacy leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, compliance, medication safety, and quality standards

Previous PIC or Pharmacy Manager experience

Experience with State Board of Pharmacy inspections or regulatory audits

Experience developing or maintaining SOPs and quality assurance programs

Proven experience leading and developing pharmacy teams
