Host - Restaurant evening/ weekend

Don Antonio – Hell's Kitchen / Midtown Manhattan, NYC Don Antonio is an award-winning Neapolitan pizzeria located in the heart of Manhattan's Theater District. We are looking for TWO warm, organized, and energetic Host / Hostesses to be the first point of contact for our guests.
Unlike many restaurants in New York, we do not accept reservations. Our dining room operates on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis , making the host stand an important position in managing guest flow, wait times, and the overall guest experience.
Responsibilities
Welcome guests with professionalism and genuine hospitality.
Manage the waitlist and guest flow during busy service periods.
Clearly communicate estimated wait times and seating procedures.
Coordinate with managers and service staff to maximize dining room efficiency.
Answer phones and respond to guest inquiries.
Manage takeout orders and coordinate with delivery drivers.
Verify order accuracy before takeout and delivery pickups.
Assist with online ordering platforms and third-party delivery services.
Maintain an organized and professional host stand.
Support the team with various front-of-house duties as needed.
Requirements
Previous restaurant hosting or front-of-house experience preferred.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
Experience with POS systems and reservation/waitlist platforms is a plus.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Italian cuisine and ingredients.
Interest in Neapolitan pizza and Italian food culture.
Understanding of ingredients such as mozzarella di bufala, San Marzano tomatoes, prosciutto, burrata, and Italian cheeses is a plus.
Experience handling takeout and third-party delivery services.
