The Insurance Verification & Scheduling Specialist supports daily business office operations by verifying insurance coverage and eligibility, calculating patient financial responsibility, completing patient registration, and providing excellent customer service to patients and visitors. This role works closely with patients, physician offices, insurance companies, and clinical teams to ensure accurate and timely information throughout the patient experience.
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage, and medical policy requirements.
Calculate deductibles, coinsurance, copays, and estimated patient financial responsibility.
Communicate insurance benefits, payment expectations, and available payment options to patients.
Complete accurate patient registration and maintain insurance and demographic information.
Answer multi-line phones and route calls professionally.
Partner with clinical and business office teams to support efficient daily operations.
High school diploma
Working knowledge of surgical routine and medical terminology
Bachelor's Degree related to healthcare
Registration, Business Office (billing/coding claims) and Health Information Management experience
