Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

The Vascular Access RN:

Insert complex peripheral IV in adult patient populations with or without ultrasound visualization.

Consult with staff in troubleshooting VADs and coordinate interventions with the health care team.

Participate in quality improvement activities for VADs.

Maintain integration of services and collaboration with Nursing, CV Radiology, Infection Control and Home Health for product standardization, quality control, outcome monitoring and costs.

MN RN License

• BLS required for Health Care Providers
• 2 years of Adult PICC line insertion experience
• Current Pediatric and Adult PICC/Midline insertion experience
• Ultrasound guided PIV placement experience on pediatric through adult patients
