We welcome all healthcare professionals to join our thriving community and contribute to our pursuit for clinical excellence.Position ResponsibilitiesObtain and assess family and medical history and counsels patients and/or families in cases of genetic disorders or birth defects.Discusses genetic testing process, possible results and benefits and limitations of genetic testing options. Coordinates and researches all insurance coverage for genetic testing for patients. Prepares letters of medical necessity.Assists families in understanding genetic disorders in their families; probable course of the disorder, available management strategies, medical recommendations from the geneticist and recurrence risks.Documents in patient charts and develops follow-up recommendations for patient; documents cases and maintains appropriate records, ensuring confidentiality.Performs associated administrative or clerical tasks, which may include special projects, correspondence, and program funding activities.Teaches and supervises training activities of residents and/or other health care professionals.
