Requirements

• Minimum: 1 year recent Med-Surg experience required
• Required: BCLS
• Preferred: CPI
• Core clinical skills: med-surg competencies including IV start/maintenance, central/PICC care, wound/ostomy/drain care, chest tube care, feeding-tube management, oxygen/HFNC/non-invasive airway support, suctioning, PCA, phlebotomy, blood product administration, basic dialysis support management, insulin/heparin administration

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical unit.
• Monitor patient progress and document changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Assist in the management of medical equipment and devices.
• Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.

Compliance / Notes

• Pending NM/Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start)
• Travelers expected to float to like units as needed
• Once contract is signed, traveler expected to complete required labs within 48 business hours
• On-site orientation modules must be completed during orientation
