Senior Chemist, Organic Chemistry

About the Role Nanochem Technologies is actively seeking a senior coatings chemist and custom formulator for industrial wood and industrial metal coatings. This is an ideal position for an experienced and creative chemist who has experience with a broad range of coatings chemistries, proven formulation skills, enjoys custom formulating per customer specs, and excels in a dynamic environment where they will continue to develop technical and leadership skills.
Responsibilities Lead activities focused on problem-solving, product improvement, performance testing, and verification/improvement of application robustness.
Support custom development initiatives to solve customer problems.
Support sales/marketing with technical guidance and attendance at customer meetings.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in organic chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer chemistry, or coatings chemistry.
Required Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience with a coatings manufacturer.
Strong computer and record-keeping skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong technical writing/report writing skills.
Ability to multitask under pressure.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willing to relocate to Elkhart, Indiana.
Preferred Skills Experience with a broad range of coatings chemistries.
Excels in a dynamic environment.
