Nursing Paramedic / Emergency Department / Part Time

About the role
Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high‑quality plasma you collect will become life‑changing medicines. A commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires knowledge of plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment and follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs, offering center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).

How you will contribute

Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).

Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs; manage medical emergencies, develop Center Physician standing orders, and arrange transport for emergency care.

Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.

Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.

Manage employee incidents, determine need for evaluation by occupational health/ER, and follow EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.

Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support pandemic investigations within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

What you bring to Takeda

High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.

Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic.

Current CPR and AED certification.

Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Two years clinical or hospital experience.

BioLife Compensation And Benefits Summary
U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $23.04 - $31.68 per hour. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays and well‑being benefits. U.S. employees may earn up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year; new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation per year. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, location, and applicable minimum wage requirements.
