MLT - Laboratory / Microbiology

Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT/MLS)
We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our team. The ideal candidate must possess a current MLS/MLS Generalist Certification or a Specialty Certification. Additionally, the candidate must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and Flu.
Requirements:

Education verification required.
Experience in Hematology and Blood Bank is required.
Must meet qualifications to perform high complexity testing according to CLIA 493.1489 standards.
MLT/MLS Generalist Certification or Specialty Certification in Blood Bank (BB), Chemistry (C), Hematology (H), or Microbiology (M) required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Collect patient specimens.
Utilize the information system to receive patients, order and collect samples, result tests, respond to inquiries from nurses and physicians, document quality control activities, and generate reports.
Perform laboratory tests in the specialties of hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank or microbiology using both automated and manual methods in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Analyze test results for validity and accuracy prior to releasing information to patient charts.
Ensure timely reporting of results and appropriate documentation of critical results.
Conduct quality control and proficiency testing procedures as outlined in policy.
Interpret and troubleshoot quality control results to ensure test results are accurate and precise.
Perform preventative maintenance, minor troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory instruments.
Engage in method and instrument evaluation and implementation.
Participate in the teaching and training of new staff and students.
Maintain proficiency in existing procedures and acquire competence in new methods introduced.
