Range $38.46 -$53.24 per hour

Essential Functions

Collaborates with district leaders and other FMS divisions to ensure work performed does not interrupt instruction or school/ office operations.

Completes schematic drawings in relation to modifications, instillation, fabrication, replacement and repairs to equipment and facilities.

Orders necessary parts and supplies following district procurement procedures and maintaining an accurate up-to-date inventory. Advises and makes recommendations on cost of service/s for equipment and projects to ensure effective and efficient resource utilization.

Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards. Participates in meetings, attend workshops and seminars for conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

Troubleshoots, installs, repairs, replace and inspects all district plumbing systems including but not limited to; faucets, toilets, lavatories, sinks, flush valves, drinking fountains, water heaters, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water meters, mixing valves and catch basins.

Installs, repair and calibrates swimming control devices (electronic and mechanical).

Repairs, replace and inspects eyewash and body wash systems.

Tests, installs, repair and replaces cross connection/backflow devices.

Repairs and/or replaces water lines, domestic recirculation lines and sewer lines.

Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repairs in district facilities including, but not limited to, domestic water systems and related devices and sanitary waste drainage.

Maintains and repair all-natural gas services including valves.

Provides drawings and pull plumbing permits as required per state and local codes.

Winterizes facilities and irrigation systems.

Installs, repairs, maintain and calibrates water softeners and other filtration systems.

Make sure that work areas are properly maintained.

Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position and actively supports the RUSD Strategic Plan.

Supervision Received

Receives direction from the Director of Maintenance. The Plumbing Foreperson normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

Supervision Exercised

The Plumbing Foreperson supervises district plumbers and works closely with district staff and staff within the Office of Operations.

Busy work environment with multiple priorities and frequent interruptions. Work includes a commitment to irregular working hours, when needed.

Position requires the availability for flexible shifts and additional hours as necessary and ability to be on call 24-hours a day, seven days a week when needed for district emergencies.

Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read a variety of documents; sitting for extended periods of time; walking; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; intermittent bending, stooping or reaching overhead to retrieve or store materials; driving a vehicle to conduct business activities.

Primarily an indoor work environment, but frequent travel between district sites is required with occasional out of town travel, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and construction equipment.

Job duties may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

Ability to work with a respirator if needed.

Employee must carry district provided cell phone in the execution of their job duties.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform using a full range of motions including standing, sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands and fingers to operate a computer and job-related equipment, intermittent bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling and reaching to execute job duties.

Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 100 pounds.

Ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, ropes, poles and the like using feet/legs and/or hands/arms.

Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less to 20 feet or more. This is not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well.

Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand(s). Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a keyboard.

Complete heavy workload within established time frames.

Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes/alarms).

Ability to work in confined spaces, mechanical areas where noise, heat and operating equipment are present.

Statement Of Supervisor

Performs all aspects of operations related to the plumbing trade including but not limited to, sanitary and potable water systems, kitchen equipment and operation support including dishwashers, grease traps and garbage disposals, swimming pools and related equipment, circulating pump installation and rebuilding, natural gas system maintenance, customer service, and operation of equipment in a safe manor.
