Position Details
Start Date: ASAP
Scheduled Details: 12-hour days
Unit: ICU-CVICU
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Yes, on Memorial Day
Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation
Possible Floating: May float to nearby ICUs if needed
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in CV ICU
Must pass an EKG test
License and Certification Requirements
Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
CPR Certification
ACLS Certification
NIHSS Certification
Epic experience is required
Required Skills
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Management of multi-system organ failure
Thermoregulation
Cardiac procedures including CABG, Valve Replacement/Repair, LVAD/RVAD
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and Impella management
Post cardiac surgery care
Pre/Post cardiac cath intervention
Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
CVA/Acute stroke management
Management of BiPAP and CPAP
Caring for ventilated patients
High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
ABG interpretation
Suctioning (ETT, NT)
Ventilator management
Infection prevention and isolation precautions
Phlebotomy skills
Management of surgical wounds, including drains/wound vac
Administration and management of IV therapy, including titration of drips
