Pacific Cancer Care (PCC) is seeking an organized, disciplined, and compassionate Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Monterey team. This role is critical in managing chemotherapy side effects and oncological emergencies through telephone and in-person triage assessments. The Triage RN determines optimal patient management (ER, clinic, homecare), coordinates follow-up care, and provides patient education in accordance with established protocols. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, skilled in oncology nursing, and able to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members across multiple channels (phone, email, Zoom/Teams).
Manage chemotherapy side effects and oncological emergencies via telephone triage and in-person assessment.
Determine appropriate care setting (ER, clinic, homecare) and coordinate follow-up care.
Triages phone calls according to acuity; provides or obtains sound nursing advice/medical response same day (90% of the time).
Notify MD of urgent/critical findings for response within 30 minutes; identify patients requiring ER transfer.
Respond to patient requests for refill prescriptions, lab or radiology results promptly; Coordinate referrals to external providers (home health, DME, etc.) Submit prescriptions to specialty pharmacies and obtain prior authorizations as required.
Utilize community and online resources for patient and family support.
Participate in INR monitoring and dosing; Upholds PCC's mission, values, and culture by promoting compassionate, patient-centered care.
Associate's degree in nursing required ; Current California RN license

• 1 year of oncology and infusion experience required , 2-3 years strongly preferred
• Prior experience in oncology, infusion, and patient triage.
