Head of Project Management

Fabricated Steel Products

Baton Rouge, LA

FSP) is a family-owned, AISC-certified structural steel fabricator serving the oil, gas, chemical, advanced manufacturing, and power industries for over 40 years. From our Baton Rouge facilities, we deliver high-quality fabricated steel for complex industrial projects across the Gulf Coast and beyond.

We are hiring a strong, execution-driven Project Manager to lead structural steel fabrication projects from contract award through close-out.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

The Role The Project Manager is responsible for driving schedule, coordinating detailing and production flow, managing customer communication, and ensuring project execution aligns with contract requirements.

You will work directly with customers, detailing, production, subcontractors, estimating, finance, and executive leadership to keep projects moving forward efficiently and professionally.

Success in this role requires organization, urgency, accountability, and the ability to manage competing priorities without constant oversight.

Core Responsibilities Project Execution Conduct contract and specification reviews

Develop and actively manage project schedules

Align fabrication timelines with customer requirements

Client & Cross-Functional Leadership Serve as primary point of contact for customers

Coordinate engineers, detailers, subcontractors, production, estimating, and finance

Escalate risks before they impact schedule or performance

Coordinate budget matters and billing schedules with internal teams

Proactively surface contract concerns

Manage subcontractor activities

Facilitate organized project close-out

Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards

Qualifications 5 years of project management experience in fabrication, construction, or manufacturing

Experience with Tekla, SDS2, Bluebeam, Trimble, MS Excel, or similar systems

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
