Part-Time Bookkeeper

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Compensation: $35/hour, based on experience

About the Opportunity

A growing business is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a highly organized accounting professional who enjoys working independently, managing multiple priorities, and ensuring financial records remain accurate and up to date.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company's financial health through bookkeeping, payroll administration, account reconciliations, and transactional accounting support. Experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred, and candidates with automotive industry exposure are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.

Process vendor payments, customer invoices, and payment postings.

Prepare and process payroll while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Maintain accurate and organized financial records in QuickBooks.

Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.

Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections follow-up as needed.

Review financial transactions to ensure proper coding and documentation.

Generate standard financial reports and assist with month-end bookkeeping activities.

Maintain organized digital and physical accounting records.

Support business owners and management with ad hoc financial and administrative tasks.

Assist with gathering documentation for accountants, tax preparers, and external partners when required.

Qualifications

Prior bookkeeping experience with responsibility for multiple accounting functions.

Strong proficiency with QuickBooks (required).

Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and account reconciliations.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Automotive, service-based, or small business accounting experience is a plus.
