LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse - Emergency, Evenings

Winn Way Outpatient – Registered Or Licensed Practical NurseUnder general supervision provides professional nursing services for individuals receiving behavioral healthcare in accordance with medical protocols. Assesses the client's condition, develops care plans, and provides treatment and education. Participates as a member of the clinical treatment team and offers guidance on matters related to nursing treatment and health related matters. Provides direct nursing services and/or clinical education services to clients and their families/significant others.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms nursing assessments of clients of all ages to determine current status of client and acts to perform needed interventions based on results of that assessment.Documents results of assessments and formulates nursing interventions according to assessment results.Performs venipuncture and other CLIA-waived testing, including urine drug screening and breathalyzer, etc.Completes AIMS Assessments as ordered by the MD or APRN.Ensures physician/APRN orders are responded to in a timely manner.Facilitates collection of laboratory specimens to include ensuring proper completion of the receiving facilities' requisition formDemonstrates knowledge of normal and abnormal lab values.Coordinates medical and psychiatric care with community providers ensuring appropriate referral documentation and follow-up from consultation.In absence of the physician or APRN, assumes leadership role in medical emergency, providing direction to other team members and making decisions regarding additional emergency care as dictated by agency policies and procedures.Provides health related training / education for clients and families as indicated by assessments or at the treatment team request. Facilitates health education groups as needed.Maintains examination room, equipment, and supplies to provide a clean and safe environment for client care.Provides clinical supervision for assigned nursing services staff.May provide clinical supervision for Licensed Professional Nursing staff, as assigned.Contributes professional nursing knowledge in client care decision makingDelegates or follows through with assignments to promote safe and optimal care of the client and the other staff.Communicates information clearly to physicians and to other providers to ensure optimal client care, including any adverse reactions to medications.Effectively communicates to families, other Claratel programs, and/or community partners (hospitals, clinics, other MH or SA providers) as needed to promote client care, staff functioning, or business processes.Skill, Competency and Education and/or Licensure RequirementsRegistered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed to practice in the State of Georgia. Must possess basic computer and typing skills. Ability to use an electronic health record. Prior experience working with behavioral health preferred.Able to communicate effectively with co-workers at multiple sites, internal and external customers and the public.Working ConditionsWorks in an outpatient clinic 8:15am-5:00pm with some evening hours and/or weekend hours (as determined by clinic needs). Flexibility to float to other agency sites as needed to assure coverage.Needed AttributesMust be well organized and client focused with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be able to provide direction to other staff in emergency situations (behavioral and medical). Must be able to work in a recovery oriented, client focused, and trauma informed care environment.
