Weld Engineer II
A well-established manufacturing organization in the central Kentucky is seeking a Weld Engineer II to join its engineering team. Primary Responsibilities Support engineering and production teams during new product launches.
Participate in projects involving new manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Evaluate new product designs for manufacturability, quality, and cost effectiveness.
Analyze existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Develop manufacturing concepts and process plans for new products.
Specify, procure, and implement welding, fabrication, and assembly equipment and related documentation.
Perform manufacturing cost analyses and production capacity evaluations.
Support robotic welding operations by assisting with process control and optimization.
Develop and improve fabrication and welding processes to meet production requirements.
Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product introductions.
Assist with installation, validation, and launch of new manufacturing processes.
Ensure compliance with applicable quality and safety standards.
Conduct failure analysis and support corrective actions on prototype and production components.
Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering required; Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
Experience in manufacturing engineering is required.
Knowledge of welding processes and welding procedure development is preferred.
Experience with process development, APQP, or similar quality planning methodologies is desirable.
Experience evaluating or implementing manufacturing equipment is a plus.
Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar design platforms is preferred.
Experience with tooling and fixture design is beneficial.
Understanding of GD&T, quality management systems, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles is preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with a high level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
