This is a confidential search on behalf of a well-established, multi-site product design and engineering firm with deep expertise in bringing complex electro-mechanical and plastic products to market. The company partners with global brands and manages the full product development cycle - from ideation through production launch - across a range of end markets including consumer electronics and medical devices. With established engineering hubs in the Kansas City and St. You'll own the full product design lifecycle - from early concept to tooling validation to medium-volume production - and serve as the definitive technical authority on plastic part and electro-mechanical assembly design across two engineering sites.

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a permanent position that offers an opportunity to work on exciting projects, where innovation and creativity are highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a specific focus on 3D CAD, Solidworks, Creo, DFM, FEA, structural analysis, tolerance stack-up, AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, CAD drafting, Design for Manufacturing, and plastics. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in developing and improving our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
Design, develop, and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc.
Conduct product testing and create models and prototypes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
Conduct complex technical studies and analysis, and produce reports.
Apply expert knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Utilize 3D CAD, Solidworks, Creo, and other relevant software for product design and analysis.
Perform tolerance stack-up analysis for complex assemblies.
Ensure all designed products adhere to company standards and meet customer requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in 3D CAD, Solidworks, Creo, DFM, FEA, structural analysis, tolerance stack-up, AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, CAD drafting, and Design for Manufacturing.
Extensive knowledge of plastics and their applications in product design.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Professional Engineering (PE) certification is a plus.
