Job Responsibilities

Assist machine operators with loading, unloading, and staging materials required to run assigned equipment.

Support the operation of CNC machines, multi-spindle screw machines, and related production equipment under the guidance of experienced operators.

Ensure that all parts produced meet quality control requirements by performing measurements and visual inspections.

Train alongside experienced operators to learn moderately advanced troubleshooting techniques and perform basic equipment adjustments.

Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings when applicable to understand specifications and tolerances.

Use moderately advanced measuring instruments such as hand gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools to verify part dimensions.

Accurately complete all required production, quality, and documentation forms in a timely manner.

Adhere to 5S standards by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures while operating equipment and performing daily tasks.

Utilize the machine's HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens to log inputs, record measurements, and monitor machine status as directed.

Assist with machine setup and changeovers, including preparing tools, fixtures, and materials under supervision.

Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously after training, with an expectation for CNC operators to run up to four machines at once after approximately three months.

Use basic mathematical skills to calculate dimensions, verify tolerances, and interpret measurement results.

Handle general production duties such as material handling, basic machine cleaning, and light general labor tasks.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

Previous machine operating experience, with a preference for candidates who have 1+ years of machine operation in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to use measurement tools such as hand gauges, calipers, micrometers, and related inspection equipment.

Basic understanding of machine operation, including starting, stopping, and monitoring production equipment.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints or willingness to learn blueprint reading as part of training.

Familiarity with or ability to learn CNC machine operation, including CNC lathes and CNC mills.

Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, machines, and metal manufacturing processes.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to measurements and tolerances.

Strong attention to detail to ensure parts meet quality specifications and to accurately complete documentation.

Willingness to follow safety, environmental, and quality procedures consistently.

Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and be available for weekend work when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Blueprint reading experience is a significant plus but not strictly required for consideration.

CNC experience is preferred, especially with CNC lathes, CNC mills, and general CNC operation.

Experience with Murata CNC machines or multi-spindle screw machines is beneficial.

Experience in metal manufacturing, general production, or general labor in an industrial setting.

Experience with machine setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting of production equipment.

Comfort using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to learn to run multiple machines simultaneously after a structured training period.

Capability to log data and measurements into HMI screens or similar machine interfaces.

Willingness to train closely with another machine operator and not operate a machine alone initially.

Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance to meet production expectations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC 28269.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
