Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU units. The ideal candidate must have ICU experience and be willing to float to Medical Surgical units as needed. Extensive cardiac experience is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws.
Documents patient care according to standards of care.
Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care based on the individualized needs of the patient as prescribed by physicians and/or hospital policy, including patient and family education.
Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
Utilizes critical thinking in relation to patient safety and experience, and escalates concerns to the appropriate chain of command when necessary.
Shift Information
Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Holiday Coverage Required
Yes
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
Current Illinois RN license.
Certifications in CPR and ACLS required.
NIHSS certification preferred.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.
