HR Generalist - Employee Relations & Recruiting

Job Overview The Human Resource Generalist manages day‑to‑day HR duties at a professional level for multiple business units, focusing on new hire onboarding, performance management, employee relations, benefit administration, training, development, and compliance with employment laws.
Responsibilities Provide support and guidance to team members and management on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues.
Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
Manage leave of absence administration and collaborate with third‑party vendors on FMLA/LOA requests and short‑term disability claims.
Conduct effective, non‑biased investigations in partnership with the HR Manager, ensuring prompt resolution.
Manage unemployment claims, providing timely responses to filed claims and handling unemployment hearings.
Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Assist HR team members on driver and non‑driver matters promptly.
Answer emails and phone calls in a timely manner to ensure resolution.
Provide recommendations for innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to ensure continual improvement in departmental efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Deliver innovative HR solutions through process improvement.
Strong internal and external customer service skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to research and analyze data.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business/HR Management or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum of 1‑2 years of Human Resource Specialist experience required.
Previous HR Generalist experience preferred.
Logistics/Trucking Industry experience a plus.
