Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical unit.
The role requires a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
BLS and NIHSS certifications are mandatory, both must be from the American Heart Association.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both days and nights.
Electronic medical record experience with Meditech is preferred but not required.
Nurse Aides are available, with a typical ratio of 1:8, generally 1:10.
Shifts begin between 6:45 AM and 7:15 AM and are 12-hour shifts.
Weekend work is required every other weekend.
Holidays may be required as needed.
The scrub color is Caribbean blue.
Patients on telemetry are monitored in a different unit.
Floating to all acute care and cardiovascular units may be required.
There is a general orientation of 1 week, which includes training on the electronic medical record system.
Floor-specific orientation will last 2 days.
The position is in a facility serving a population of approximately 80,000.
Housing options are available that are gated, safe, and clean, with regular availability.
There are hotels in the area with special rates for traveling staff.
