Intrepid College Prep is a network of free, college‑preparatory public charter schools located in the Antioch area of Greater Nashville, Tennessee. We educate scholars at two campuses: Opportunity Academy Middle School and Independence Academy High School. Our 5‑12 model provides a rigorous, college‑preparatory education for eight years and supports scholars’ transition to college and beyond. Our open‑enrollment policy means scholars do not need an entrance test or tuition.

We seek teachers who are disciplined, mission‑aligned, hungry for feedback, nerdy, driven by equity, and introspective. You hold yourself to a high standard, take initiative, are intentional with time, and believe every student, regardless of background, deserves an excellent education.

Internalize, accommodate, and execute our rigorous, college‑preparatory curriculum including daily lesson plans, unit plans, and scope and sequence.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure academic growth for EL students and students with disabilities.

Use structured planning time and professional development to design high‑quality lessons.

Engage in a community where teaching is public—participating in classroom visits, publishing curriculum, observing, and giving feedback.

Share teaching strategies, visit peer classrooms, and analyze academic achievement data to develop best practice.

Commit to a school culture of consistency and high expectations by implementing school‑wide systems, structures, and procedures.

Be available and willing to participate in after‑school programs as needed.

Be available and willing to engage in a limited number of optional evening/weekend student recruitment and community outreach events as needed.

Perform other school success duties as assigned.

Valid Tennessee certification in the appropriate content area, with a track record of data‑driven achievement.

Minimum of two years teaching experience preferred in an urban public school or charter school.

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

We offer a generous compensation package, including full health benefits, a dedicated workspace, laptop, email, high‑speed internet, and all necessary supplies. Teacher salaries are determined by the ICP salary scale based on years of teaching experience. Starting salary (Year 0) for a certified teacher with zero experience is $53,000. Compensation is highly competitive and includes participation in the MNPS Retirement System.
