Partner with Mortgage Loan Officers and Mortgage Sales Assistants to streamline and enhance the customer home buying or refinance process.

Ensure that all Mortgage Loan Documentation meets policies and regulations.

You will be an essential part of the team as you communicate with customers throughout their experience.

The Mortgage Loan Processor at Mercantile Bank plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless progression of mortgage files from application to closing. This position is designed for individuals with a robust mortgage background, strong organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for ordering and validating essential documents such as property titles, appraisals, and credit reports while collaborating closely with customers and Mortgage Loan Officers to ensure compliance with regulatory timelines. Demonstrating proficiency in agency and investor guidelines, you will structure files effectively and manage the submission process through an Automated Underwriting System (AUS). To excel as a Mortgage Loan Processor at Mercantile Bank, candidates must bring a combination of technical skills, industry knowledge and exceptional customer service.

1 to 3 years of job-related experience in mortgage processing and documentation

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Prior mortgage loan processing experience

In addition to the requirements listed above we are looking for candidates with a two-year college degree, specialized certifications, or training in relevant vendor courses. Successful candidates will demonstrate adaptability in dynamic environments, the ability to thrive under pressure, and strong interpersonal and customer service skills. This position will be required to work at least two days a week in the office.
