About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, client-focused Paralegal to join our Houston team. The ideal candidate is an organized, dependable multitasker who takes initiative, works well under deadlines, and thrives in a collaborative, high-performing legal environment. This role supports attorneys handling cases in federal court, state court, and private arbitration.

This is an on-site position in our Houston office. Candidates should reside in the Greater Houston area and be available to work Monday through Friday, with an eight-hour workday. Ample overtime opportunities are available.

What You'll Do

Work primarily under the direction of an assigned group of attorneys managing the firm’s wage-and-hour docket.

Handle multiple cases in federal court, state court, and private arbitration, including AAA and JAMS matters.

Assist with all aspects of the litigation process, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.

Review and calendar federal and state court electronic filings in accordance with applicable Federal Rules, Local Rules, and judge-specific requirements.

Prepare legal documents, including form pleadings, discovery, motions, pre-trial motions, settlement documents, and client correspondence.

Compile and organize deposition and trial notebooks, client interview materials, pleadings, motions, and pre-trial materials.

Manage all phases of discovery, including interrogatory responses, document production, disclosures, requests for admissions, subpoenas, and depositions.

Provide assistance to other paralegals within assigned teams as needed to meet firm and client needs.

Organize and prioritize attorney and legal assistant workloads to efficiently support team and case objectives.

What We're Looking For

At least 5 years of progressive paralegal experience in a law firm litigation department.

Prior wage-and-hour experience is not required.

Demonstrated experience managing core paralegal functions and responsibilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 365.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with strong judgment and conflict-resolution abilities.

A high level of discretion, professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Excellent time-management skills and flexibility to meet the needs of the team.

A collaborative, team-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively with attorneys and legal support professionals.

Competitive hourly compensation: $30-$36 per hour based on experience, with overtime opportunities
