Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Apheresis

Start Date: ASAP, upon completion of credentialing/onboarding

Shift Schedule: Day shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00a-5:30p (40 hours/week). On-call: weekends and holidays, minimum one full weekend per month.

How many shifts needed per month: Approx. 20-22 weekday shifts, plus on-call coverage (min. one full weekend/month)

Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks

License: Any state license works (current, active, unrestricted)

Certifications: Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross)

Education: BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma from an accredited program; passed NCLEX

Experience needed: 2 years current hospital experience in apheresis

Special Skills needed: Hands-on proficiency with apheresis procedures and equipment in a hospital setting, including therapeutic and donor apheresis. Strong venous access and vascular assessment skills, with the ability to monitor patients closely throughout lengthy procedures. Comfortable managing donor/patient reactions and responding quickly to adverse events.

Responsibilities: Perform apheresis procedures for patients and donors at the NIH Clinical Center Blood Services unit, including patient assessment before, during, and after each procedure. Operate and troubleshoot apheresis equipment, document care accurately, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team on patient status. Participate in the weekend and holiday on-call rotation, with a minimum of one full weekend per month.
