Head of Operations Management (m/w/d)

Department: Health Information Services | Work Shift: Day | Salary Range: $64,972.00 - $97,458.00

The HIM Operations Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) department, ensuring release of information, prep, scanning, quality control, analysis, deficiency management, record completion, and physician suspension management.

Supervises and provides guidance and training to HIM staff, ensuring adherence to productivity and quality standards and department guidelines.

Hires, trains, and manages HIM staff, assigning tasks and evaluating performance.

Ensures compliance with HIPAA and maintains privacy safeguards for protected health information.

Identifies and implements improvements to HIM processes and workflows, acting as a bridge between clinical and administrative aspects of healthcare.

Oversees daily workflows related to medical record retrieval, prep, scanning, indexing, document type audit, release of information, and deficiency analysis.

Optimizes OnBase and Epic workflows and collaborates with clinical divisions and IT for smooth information flow and issue resolution.

Prepares reports, approves schedules and timecards, and assists with special projects.

Provides guidance to release of information staff on regulatory requirements and sensitive information.

Partners with medical staff and departments to resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications High School Diploma or G.Associate’s Degree in HIM or a related field required.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Health Information Management or a related work environment required; Excellent critical thinking, multitasking, professionalism, and customer service skills.

ability to establish rapport with patients, co‑workers, and medical staff.

Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams.

Strong knowledge of EHR systems, preferably Epic.
