Associate Attorney - Compliance

We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join a growing legal team focused on bankruptcy, debtor-creditor law, asset protection, business reorganization, and related practice areas. The ideal candidate will provide strategic legal counsel to individuals and businesses, represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, and help develop effective legal solutions to complex financial matters.
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 12, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.
Advise individuals and businesses on debtor-creditor matters and financial restructuring strategies.
Advocate for clients in consumer rights and debt collection matters.
Provide legal guidance on tax-related matters, including IRS representation and payment plan negotiations.
Assist clients with student loan matters, including settlement negotiations and debt reduction strategies.
Draft pleadings, motions, legal documents, and correspondence.
Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies.
Represent clients during hearings, negotiations, and court proceedings.
Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure exceptional client service.
Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with legal deadlines and court procedures.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin.
Experience in bankruptcy law or a strong interest in debtor-creditor matters.
Excellent legal research, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple matters while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Commitment to delivering compassionate, client-focused legal services.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience representing clients in bankruptcy proceedings.
Knowledge of consumer protection laws and debtor-creditor litigation.
Experience handling tax controversy or IRS representation matters.
Familiarity with business reorganization, asset protection, and student loan resolution.
Strong courtroom advocacy and client relationship management skills.
