Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Location: San Antonio, TX (100% Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (6 Months)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong development expertise and a mandatory background in Mainframe Testing and Automation Testing . The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable test frameworks, developing tools, and supporting enterprise systems including mainframe environments.
This role requires hands-on experience in Java development, API testing, and modern automation practices, along with the ability to work across legacy and distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and testing tools
Perform mainframe testing and integrate automation solutions for legacy systems
Develop and integrate APIs and services to support testing and platform functionality
Build new tools and enhance existing testing tools and frameworks
Implement service virtualization techniques for API stubbing and testing
Develop and execute automated test scripts using Selenium and/or Appium
Contribute to AI/ML initiatives to improve data intelligence and testing efficiency
Work with containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
Analyze and validate data using SQL and tools like Elasticsearch and Kibana
Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable code
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate technical concepts
Stay updated with emerging technologies and mentor team members
Required Skills & Experience (Must-Have)
- 4+ years of experience as an SDET or in software development with testing focus
- Strong proficiency in Java development
- Mandatory experience in Mainframe Testing
- Mandatory experience in Automation Testing (framework design & implementation)
- Experience designing and implementing APIs and services
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and test framework development
- Hands-on experience with JUnit or similar frameworks
- Experience with service virtualization and API stubbing
- Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
- Strong experience with Selenium and/or Appium
- Good data analysis experience using Elasticsearch and Kibana
- Strong SQL skills for querying and data validation
- Experience in code reviews and maintaining coding standards
