Assists other warehouse personnel and warehouse supervisor in performing assigned tasks.Major Responsibilities:Assist in the checking in (opening of cartons, counting contents and marking purchase order numbers/destination and sorting) of warehouse merchandise.Responsible for daily loading of MISD trucks, deliveries and pickup of merchandise at all schools and departments.Assist in filing warehouse shipping orders.Performs other duties as assigned by the Warehouse, Procurement Supervisor and Director of Procurement and Supply Management Services.Qualification Requirements:Minimum Certification/Education:High School Diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Must possess the ability to work effectively with peopleMust be able to read and write EnglishMust possess or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial driver's licenseMust be able to lift objects in excess of 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 50 pounds or moreValid Texas Driver License and acceptable driving record; must adhere to Midland ISD's vehicle safety and use programBasic computer skillsMinimum Experience:A reliable work historyPhysical Demands:Heavy lifting and/or carryingLoadingStackingStanding and walking (8 hours per day)Reaching above shouldersEquipment used:VansTrucks with liftForkliftsPallet jacksHand cartsBack support beltsWork Environment:Work inside and outsideExposure to hot and cold temperaturesSlippery or uneven walking surfacesWork around moving objects or vehiclesThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
