Pay Range $20.80 - $31.20

Education / Experience High School diploma or equivalent with one year experience in purchasing, shipping, or receiving materials. Associate's degree preferred.

Essential Functions Performs accurate PeopleSoft online purchase requests while striving to adhere to the departmental budget and maintain optimum inventory levels.

Ensures service specific, OR par‑stock and generic supplies are properly maintained in designated locations for distribution throughout all sites in the Operating Room.

Rotates inventory, eliminates expired and unused supplies, conducts monthly inventory cycle counts, and keeps the inventory database updated for all supplies.

Works with vendors/distributors to return low usage, obsolete, or overstocked supplies for exchange or credit and helps resolve manufacturer recalls quickly to promote patient safety, obtaining necessary FDA approvals and Medicare charge codes.

Investigates and resolves order issues such as backorders, errors, miscommunication, lost shipments, price discrepancies, and invoice discrepancies.

Maintains clean and orderly work areas, organizes par‑stock locations within Surgical Services, and follows Joint Commission standards and Fire Marshall requirements.

Works as a team, promotes a cooperative environment, supports Lifewings and ICARE principles, and mentors others.

Schedules meetings with vendors and other hospital department managers as needed and ensures accurate accounting of all incoming freight.

Ensures prompt processing of items in the order of perishables, express packages, and ground deliveries.

Additional duties may include transporting other material throughout the facility, such as mail and linen.

Skills / Qualifications Good writing, basic math, and strong computer skills.

Detail oriented, strong organization skills, and ability to multitask.

Physical capacity to move supplies and materials.

Work Environment Possible exposure to infections and contagious diseases; potential exposure to electrical/mechanical/power equipment hazards; cuts from opening boxes; occasional unpleasant patient/unit elements; many interruptions; occasional pressure from calls and inquiries; frequent work behind the Red Line (Sterile Equipment). Required protective equipment includes eye/face protection, OR greens, sterile/non-sterile gloves, and shoe covers. Work occurs in office, hospital, and floor environments.

Physical Requirements Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching with arms, finger and hand dexterity, talking, hearing, seeing, and lifting or carrying up to 100 lbs. Maximum: 20 lbs 50 lbs 100 lbs (percentages omitted for clarity).
